In terms of fashion, the 2000's are considered a mix up of many previous styles, inspired by vintage clothing and music. The 2000's had a very diversified dress code: preppy, emo, hiphop, chavs, indie, goth... 


Noticeable trends in the 2000s:

"boho-chic" or "hippy-chic", a trend influenced by green fashion and back to earth feeling.

UGG boots were popular all throughout the year 2000

Scene fashion became popular thanks to myspace. Scene/emo is a fashion movement that is specifically from the 2000's.

ART in 2000

Contemporary art is the predominant form of art in the year 2000. The expression 'contemporary art' englobes 1945 to the present days. As technology becomes more and more advanced, we start talking about digital and computerised art. Thus, Contemporary art includes video art, photography, pop art...

Artistic Movements from 2000:

  • Classical Realism: a form of art, often a painting, that focuses on aestheticism, beauty and harmony.

Hugo Boss prize- Marjetica Potrč "Skeleton house" two architectural installations.





Turner Prize- Wolfgang Tillmans "Lights" is the first video art by the photographer. His inspiration was the flashing lights in night clubs.
